2010. News Media Whiteout Why "No Doublelines on Streets" Public meetings

July 19, 2010

TO: Editors, Concerned Americans, Internet, and Beyond…

During Valdosta City Council Meeting on July 8, 2010 the council was informed that no double centerlines exist along parts of North Williams Street in front of Valdosta City School Board of Education Central Office up to the public library. This is a serious hazard condition for both motorists and pedestrians because students from Valdosta State University frequently travel this street to attend classes.

Without the double yellow centerline motorists do not know where, when or if they should pass at all in this residential area. By local newspapers and television stations ignoring this hazard shows a continuous practice and pattern of keeping citizens deaf, dumb, and blind to important information distributed at Public Meetings. And this could result in unnecessary accidents, injuries, damage to personal property and even lost of life at a high cost to taxpayers.

Both motorists and pedestrians realize that the double yellow centerline is important on Georgia streets, and that local news media should have publicized this hazardous condition. It seems that there is a continuous practice and pattern of Valdosta-Lowndes County maintaining their own set of laws and a judicial system that needs to be investigated for the good of the general public.

Therefore we must love our neighbors so much that we rid ourselves of the spell of the leviathan and seek outside news sources that will keep all citizens informed and not a select few on cutting edge issues that goes beyond religious, economic, and political party lines. God Bless our entire community.
